The Story ofCumbria

Like all non-indigenous Australians, Jilly’s story is one of immigration to a foreign land. After an inter-faith relationship that caught the ire of the family and community, Great Grandfather Jilly was exiled from Cumbria on a boat to the new world. In this new place, he soon came to be known as the White Wolf of Cumbria, a nod to the legendary animal that was hunted to extinction in England and became a symbol of guardianship and protection.
